Om Norwegian Arts Abroad

The Norwegian Arts Abroad (NAA) network was launched in 2016 and consists of seven organisations which, within their respective fields, facilitate and work to increase the internationalisation and export of art and culture from Norway. The network administers grant schemes on behalf of the authorities.

The network forms part of the support apparatus for the Ministry of Culture and Equality and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The organisations in the NAA network all have an international mandate assigned by the authorities and carry out long-term, targeted work to promote the export and internationalisation of Norwegian art and culture, in line with Norway’s broader ambition to increase exports.

Each organisation works in different ways adapted to its respective sector, but they share common goals: developing competence within and about their fields, building networks, and, not least, providing access to capital through the management of grant schemes from the Ministry of Culture and Equality and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
